Message from Our Chief of Family & Community Partnership
Dear Jeffco Public Schools Families,
As a former Jeffco principal and the mother of two Jeffco students, I know how important it is for families to have a voice in their student’s education. That is why I’m writing to you today to ask that you take the Panorama Education Family Survey. When we talk about creating a culture of belonging for all students, partnering with our families through survey feedback is crucial to understanding our strengths and learning how we can best support our students.
Survey Details:
· Timeline: Take the survey between Tuesday, January 16 - Friday, February 23.
· Length: The survey takes 15-20 minutes to complete.
· Complete One Survey Per Student: If you have multiple students at various schools, complete one survey for each student. If you have one or more students at the same school, please take the survey thinking about your oldest student enrolled.
· Anonymous Participation: The survey does not ask for any personally identifiable information.
· Language Options: The survey is available in eight languages, including English, Spanish, Russian and Vietnamese. You can access the different languages by navigating to the language drop-down menu found in the upper left hand corner of your screen.
· Paper Copies Available: If you would prefer to complete the survey on paper, you can request a copy from your student’s school.
· Be sure to select the submit button at the end of the survey so your responses are captured.
· Results will be used to improve our district and your student(s) learning environment. You can view previous survey results under the School Culture tab.
Our learners are our future, and your feedback will help our district continue to make decisions and measure outcomes based on how well we serve our students. We exist to help students succeed and act with intensity to give our students the education they need and deserve today.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Respectfully,
Spirit Week: January 22nd - 26th
Monday: Anything but a backpack
Tuesday: Pajama
Wednesday: Western Wear
Thursday: Saints Day
Friday: Dress as your favorite holiday

Panorama Student survey
Dear Families:
Panorama Education is a company who conducts student and family surveys in schools and districts across the country. Jefferson Junior Senior High School will be giving students the Panorama student survey in the coming months.
Content. The Panorama student survey gathers information on the following:
School Belonging
School Climate
School Engagement
School Teacher-Student Relationships
School Rigorous Expectations
School Safety
Math Identity
You may review the survey questions by visiting this link.
The results are compiled into aggregate-level school climate reports. These reports are used by district leaders and school staff to help maintain the positive aspects of our schools and to address individual student needs.
It is Voluntary. Your child does not have to take the student survey. Students who participate only have to answer the questions they want to answer and they may stop taking the survey at any time.
It is Confidential. No students will be identified in any public reports or publications. Individual student information (name, student number, school and grade) will be uploaded into the Panorama system. District staff will have access to the data file. Responses are confidential and identifiable. Individual student data may be shared with school staff to provide instructional and social emotional support.
Timing: The survey will be administered January 16 - February 23, 2024. It will take about 30-45 minutes.
Opt - Out: If you do not want your child to participate in the survey, you may contact Assistant Principal Kristin Landes at Kristin.Landes@jeffco.k12.co.us by February 16th.

Refocus attention on respect for a positive effect on learning
By the middle of the school year, students are usually feeling more comfortable and relaxed in their classes. That’s great! Unfortunately, however, a “relaxed” attitude toward respectful behavior often goes along with this.
