Attention Parents of Juniors and Seniors!

College Applications:

Seniors should be finishing up their college applications and should be in close contact with Mr. Pellettier on the status of their applications. Students should be sure to notify the guidance office when they have received an admissions decision.

Financial Aid:

Now is the time to complete the FAFSA form for college financial aid. It is recommended that parents complete the form by February 15th. For assistance, please contact Mr. Pellettier in the guidance office.

Junior meetings:

Mr. Pellettier will be meeting with all Juniors to discuss important information such as schedules, SATs and ACTs, graduation requirements, and using Naviance for post secondary planning.

Introducing Naviance

Naviance is a web based college and career readiness platform that helps students connect their academic achievements and strengths to post-secondary goals.

Students in grades 6-12 will have the opportunity for self-discovery through interest inventories and self-assessments.

The 10th graders took a interest inventory entitled Career Interest Profiler in December. The 7th graders will take a different inventory in February. The program will be rolled out to all other students in grades 6-11 this spring.

Parents will have an opportunity to learn more about how they can access and use the program at parent/teachers conferences on March 23rd.

Feel free to contact the guidance office whenever you need assistance.

Ronald McDonald Read-a-thon

Throughout the month of March, the elementary students will be participating in a Read-a-thon to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Albany. This house has helped many WAJ students who were ill and their families over the years and now is our chance to give back. Students will be bringing home a reading calendar and packet at the end of February. Students can track the minutes they read and receive sponsors or flat donations for the amount that they read. Prizes will be awarded!

Contact Mrs. Baldner at 734-3400 ext. 1160 or nbaldner@wajcs.org with any questions.
