1950's
First Person In Space: Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin was a Russian pilot and cosmonaut. He was the first human to journey into outer space, when his Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on 12 April 1961.
Television: Television became a lot more popular in households during the 1950's. Families were spending more time together but less time talking. Popular television shows in the 1950's included Howdy Doodly, Roy Rogers, Lassie, Mickey Mouse Club House, and I Love Lucy just to name a few.
1960's
Music: Rock 'n' Roll was the newest music trend set by the baby boomer teenagers. Some famous musicians of the time are Elvis Presley, The Beetles, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and many, many more.
Cars: The 1960's were an amazing time for American Automotives because everyone had extra money to spend on luxury's such as newer model cars. The top 4 cars in North America in the 1960's was the Volkswagen Bus, Plymouth Road Runner, Chevy Camaro, and the Ford Mustang.
1970's
FLQ: The Front de libération du Québec was a group in Quebec who supported the Quebec sovereignty movement. The Quebec sovereignty movement is a political movement as well as an ideology of values, and ideas that promote the independence for the Canadian province of Quebec.
Vietnam War: The Vietnam War was a long, costly armed conflict that was fought between the communist regime of North Vietnam and its southern allies, known as the Viet Cong, against South Vietnam and its principal ally, the United States. The war began in 1955 (though conflict in the region stretched back to the mid-1940s), and ended on April 30th, 1975.
