Happy Sunday Harrington Families

Happy Sunday Harrington! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. We are in full swing of the Holiday Season, as can be seen by decorated houses and many vehicles with the trees fastened to their roof. It is hard to believe we will be celebrating the holiday in three short weeks, and then returning to 2023, the year has been steadily taking off. Please remember we have a half-day on December 7th for parent/teacher conferences, as always we dismiss at 11:45.

DISMISSAL REMINDER:

Please remember that if you are changing the way in which your student will be dismissed on a particular day please send in a note with your student, or call the main office. Teachers will follow the consistent plans of that day unless there is notification from a parent/guardian to them directly. Students can be confused on dismissal plans which causes extensive confusion and a delay in the dismissal process. Again, please send in a note or call the office if you change the way your student will be getting home on any particular day.

Thank you for your continued support of Harrington. We are an inclusive community, a special community, a community that will continue to support each other.

Please ensure that you are receiving all communications from the school and that your contact information is up to date. If at any time you have changed your contact information, please let the school know so we can update our systems.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our Harrington community. Please reach out to me or Karen with any questions or concerns as always.

Once again, remember to…"Push through your day, Smile, Be Happy, Stay Positive!"

Be safe! Stay well!

Recess Rockstars!

Hour of Coding Week

The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to show that anybody can learn the basics and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. In Mrs. Fidler’s Technology Class students will be participating in the movement.

Third and Fourth Graders will be creating their own interactive solar systems, using NASA coding. Second Graders will be completing fun challenges and learning the early steps to computer game design with Angry Bird Coding. First Grade and Kindergarten will be learning about Algorithms and playing some interactive games which require students to find patterns and design their own characters. If your child would like to participate in the Hour of Code at home, you may explore the resources below:
