Notes from Mrs. Strohmeyer
I am so excited to be back to school after being on leave. During my absence, Dr. O'Hara kept things up and running and I appreciate how welcoming our community was while she was here.
Report cards went home last week. If you have questions about your child's grades, progress or work habits, please reach out to their teacher. Students and staff are working hard every day and students are continuing to grow and learn both socially and academically.
This term we have many activities and events happening around the building to celebrate students and connect our learning community. Please see below for photos and explanations for a few examples.
Liberty ES is proud to announce our Teacher of the Year nominee: Mrs. Flook
Eagle Leaders
Teachers are recognizing the accomplishments of their class by putting it on this bulletin board in our main hallway. Recognitions are then read on our morning announcements. Soon we will adding a board for individual student recognition.
Get Involved: Join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
One of the best ways for parents to be involved in school is to join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA holds open meetings once per month. During these meetings they discuss and plan events for our students, staff and families. For example, a group of parents volunteered their time to hold the "Second Recess Club" , parents organized and ran the fall fundraiser, the book fair/grandparents event and hosted a table at the "WInter Wonderland" drive-thru. Coming up this spring will be the Spring Fling (which will include a color run, cake walk, food trucks and activities) , Book Fair, Read Across America Event, Class Parties and a Fifth Grade Move-up ceremony and celebration. Please come to the next meeting to share your ideas and help us to re-establish some of our traditions. It will be held at Liberty on February 15 at 6PM.
