Places to Colonize!

Singapore

One of the main areas being colonized during the late 1800s and early 1900s founded by Sir Thomas Raffles.


Burma

Another of the main areas being colonized. This specific country opposed colonial rule however at the time.

Phillipines

Country that was colonized by the U.S. but maintained an Indirect rule with the U.S. Emilio Aguinaldo would be the one get obtain this indirect rule for the Philippines.

Thailand

The only free state in Southeast Asia. Britain and France gave Thailand gifts to keep them from attacking new colonies.

Why were Westerners so determined to colonize Southeast Asia?

They wanted to colonize Asia so they could have more land and more resources for their country.

How is Imperialism connected to Social Darwinism?

Many of the philosophies of Social Darwinism were incorporated into Imperialism as a way of rule.


What was the chief goal of the Western nations?

The chief goal of the western nations was to exploit the natural resources of these lands and open up markets for their own manufacturing.

To help our nations gain more natural resources and help our finances. There are many great people who have been in lead. There are also many great places to come and colonize like Singapore, Burma, Thailand, and Philippines. Along with those great things there is also the unique types of ruling styles like indirect and direct, and also Protectorate and Imperialism. There are many reasons why you should come to colonize here, these are just a few of the many.
