December was a busy month for Junior Kindergarten as we incorporated Mathematics and Literature into creating a holiday environment in our classroom. We also enjoyed making candy houses and dressing up as Santa's reindeer during our fun-filled holiday party.

Children's Literature Comes to Life in Jr.K 1

We read Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina, made "movable monkey" projects, acted out the story using our monkeys, and baked and enjoyed our very own homemade monkey bread!

A New Unit Begins in January

January marks the beginning of our very exciting and interactive unit on the Arctic. We will begin our Arctic Unit by locating the Arctic on our world map, viewing real pictures of the Arctic, discussing the people who live in the Arctic, and making Eskimo/Igloo projects Later, we will discuss the animals of the Arctic, create Arctic scenes, "ice paint" the Northern Lights, and much, much, more!
