Jaguar Journal

October 1, 2022

Message from Mrs. Morgan:

It's hard to believe it's already Fall! We are excited about the cooler weather and all the fun events in October! Don't forget, Fall Break is October 7-14th so there will be no school!

Also in the month of October we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week and correlating the Book Character Parade with United Way. There will be many opportunities to dress up and donate for good causes.

Our school has been receiving some updates since the summer. Over Fall break a new intercom system will be installed and fresh paint on the walls. Due to the new paint, we will not be allowed to have work or other items hanging on the walls for a few months. The walls make look bare, but we are excited about the new paint!

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year: Jennifer Rutledge

and Support Person of the Year: Lucy Summer

Red Ribbon Week

This year’s theme is “Life is a Celebration and we are all Invited!”

We all look forward to special occasions like holidays and birthdays. But each and every day should be celebrated because every day gives us an opportunity to make the world a better place. By simply making safe and healthy choices, we are doing our part in creating a community that is drug free. Staying drug-free allows us to live life to the fullest and make the most out of the opportunities we are given.

Monday, October 24th: Valentine’s Day

Wear red to celebrate your love of life and to show your commitment to stay drug-free!

-Pay it forward-Do something kind for someone you care about!

Tuesday, October 25th: 4th of July

Celebrate the pride you have for your country and the pride you have in yourself by wearing your most patriotic red, white, and blue.

-Write letters to service men and women

Wednesday, October 26th: It’s Your Birthday!

Celebrate yourself and all that you have accomplished by staying safe and healthy! Wear something that is UNIQUELY YOU! (sports uniforms, favorite hat, favorite colors, jazzy socks, favorite sports team, etc.)

Thursday, October 27th: Happy Thanksgiving

Celebrate this fun holiday by dressing-up like your favorite Thanksgiving dish (be creative).

-Kick-off the Annual Empty Stocking Fund’s Food Drive!

-Students will have the opportunity to write what they are thankful for and will be read over the morning and afternoon announcements throughout the month of November.

Friday, October 28th: Holiday season!

Wear your tackiest holiday sweater, accessories, the more, the merrier!

-Hot Chocolate will be served to all classes provided by PTO.

We are almost finished with Q1, and we can't wait to celebrate all of the Jags, who met daily PBIS expectations and earned enough points to attend the ROAR party. We will also celebrate attendance at an attendance pep rally after fall break! We want to recognize that coming to school is important, and it is one way we can earn points.

Parents, please remember to download the PBIS family app, so you can keep up with how many points your child is earning! If you have any questions about this, please contact your child's teacher.
