Ozaukee Middle School Up-Date
September 11, 2020
Important Message from Mr. Schwartz
If you're told to quarantine your child (health department or doctor), you need to contact the Mrs. Loof, Mrs. Henke and Mr. Schwartz.
When a student is identified as learning traditionally, but for some reason family chooses to have them learn remotely for a day, the student will be marked as an excused absence (Wisconsin only allows 10 absences per school year - excluding doctor notes).
When a student engages in remote learning for whatever reason, they need to be a productive member and not a distraction. They should also be using a quiet distraction free space.
Productive Remote Learner: Distraction free environment with good lighting, engaged in the class, asking/answering questions, completing class work, and following along with links/slides
Distracted Remote Learner: Emailing/hangouts with peers, texting/instagram/snapchat, talking to people off screen and silly behavior.
Understand Remote learners are responsible for their entire schedule.
This includes homeroom.
Thank you
MONDAY, School Picture and ID's
Ozaukee Middle School students will be have their picture taken on September 14th by NETWORK Photography. You can pre-order online using the link below or you can down load and print the paper copy and bring it the day that pictures are being taken. Those who do not pre-buy their photos will get a proof on the date the photos are delivered and can go online and order them. If you pre-order it may ask for homeroom teacher please use Mrs. Henke.
We are encouraging the pre-order option, it alleviates having the physical contact and lets you order directly from your home.

Up-Dating Immunization Records
Students entering 6th grade often need an immunization shot, please check with your doctor to make sure you are up to date with immunizations. Below are the requirements and form.
Mail a new copy to the District Nurse to update your child’s record when any additional dose(s) of vaccines are received. If your child still needs any of these vaccines, we encourage you to have your child immunized well before school starts to avoid the late summer rush. Waivers are available for religious, health and personal conviction reasons.
Secure computer vaccine records may be available for parents to view through the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR). http://dhfswir.org. For more information on WIR or obtaining your child’s records on WIR, please contact the Ozaukee County Public Health Department.
