Half Day Reminder!

School will be dismissed next Friday, September 27th at 10:36AM for Staff Development. Reminder, we will be a hosting a safety assembly and running our emergency evacuation drills for students that day.

6th Annual Volley for Nance

The 6th annual Volley for Nance Memorial Volleyball Tournament is this Saturday from 10am-2pm. Chef Burdick will be grilling burgers and dogs and other delicious foods will be available for lunch.

Admission is by donation and we will also be collecting non-perishable foods and winter gear. All monetary donations will be donated to the Lake Placid Public Library and the Backpack Program in memory of Nancy Morelli.

Take your Learner Permit test at school!

Students can now skip the long lines at the DMV by taking their drivers permit test in our MHS library! See Mrs. McConvey or Ms. Patenaude for more information.

Kajeets and Chromebooks Available!

Our library has Kajeets (Wi-Fi devices) and Chromebooks available for students to sign out. This is especially great for athletes who need to complete work on the road. See Ms. Patenaude and Mrs. McConvey in the library for more information.

Community Breakfast for High School Students

The Adirondack Community Church hosts a breakfast for students in grades 9-12 every Wednesday morning starting at 6:45am in the Erdman Hall at the Adk Community Church. This is a free breakfast with no religious messages. Our goal is to build relationships between the kids and adults in our community. The first breakfast will be next Wednesday, September 11th. We hope to see you there!

College Night at SUNY Plattsburgh

SUNY Plattsburgh will be hosting a College Night at the fieldhouse on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6:30-8:00PM. This is a great opportunity to meet with over 100 colleges and representatives and learn about admissions requirements, programs of study, scholarships and job placement.

Volunteer Opportunities!!!

Volley for Nance: September 21st from 9AM to 3PM. Volunteers needed for concession and a few other spots.

Teddy Bear Picnic: September 21st from 11AM to 1PM on Hillcrest Ave. in Lake Placid. Volunteers needed to help youngsters at the park.

Concessions for Volleyball games on September 23rd and 24th from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the LPMHS gym.

Educational Opportunity Fund

The Educational Opportunity Fund for the Lake Placid Central School District (Ed Op Fund) is announcing another round of innovation grants specifically for student-initiated projects. The deadline for applications is October 15th. Application below.
