Processing Our Practice

With Gabby Douglas

Understand the profound effects of yoga and meditation on our body and mind.

Oftentimes, we take a class and after a quick check-in at the end, we're back to the hustle and bustle of work and responsibilities. We leave our "yoga" at the studio, having no idea what just happened to us, other than we feel completely amazing! This workshop will allow us to deeply explore how our body and mind respond to the practices of yoga & meditation.

Friday January 22nd, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The details:

First, we'll practice a solid Slow Flow Yoga sequence focusing on grounding our energy and opening the tighter areas of our bodies. We will meditate on sensation in our bodies and how the practice changed us. We'll finish this section writing in our journals, which will help us to process the information we receive.

Second, we'll practice a Restorative Yoga sequence, using props to support us in long, relaxing poses, utilizing our breath to help us unwind and feel more spacious. We will meditate and observe the changes that have occurred through our practice, finishing up with writing in our journals to process.

This type of exploratory work can help us on or off the mat. We can use these tools in everyday life to notice when and how we react to certain situations, as well as how to protect ourselves from extending energy towards negativity, and instead extend energy towards what we want to create in life.
