Dear Mitchell Families,

The end of this school year is fast approaching - 17 days remaining as of next week. We have also completed SBAC and are proceeding with any make ups over the following week.

The last day of school is June 13, 2023 which is a minimum day. Dismissal for TK - 3rd grade is at 1:05, 4th and 5th grade students are dismissed at 1:10 pm.

As we plan for 2023-2024 and seek input from students and staff about our school climate and safety in Lawndale, we also want to hear from our families. The California School Parent Survey (CSPS) is a short, anonymous survey that provides the following:

· A means to obtain parent perceptions about the school's learning
· School climate.
· Student supports
· Parent outreach and involvement.

Asking parents to provide their perceptions of the school is an empowering parent-involvement activity. CSPS efforts identify which needs and concerns of parent /guardian schools should be addressed in promoting greater involvement. The Community Liaisons are your connection to resources, volunteer opportunities, and are here to assist families and caregivers in navigating the school district - all to improve student outcomes.

There is no small part in what you can contribute. If you are interested, you may pick up the volunteer application in our main office. Realizing Amazing Potential (RAP) is the Lawndale Elementary School District’s before and after school program. The program expands & enhances classroom instruction for LESD students.

Where formal education ends, the RAP program begins. We create real world learning environments where students have opportunities to explore, engage, and develop significant life skills.

Students in TK - 8th grade can join our morning program from 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM and/or our afternoon program from school dismissal to 6:00 PM. Join today!
