POLITICAL SIGNS IN YARDS

With the political season upon us it is important to remember that residents are only allowed to have ONE sign at any time posted in your yard. If you wish to support multiple candidates then you will need to rotate their signs as only one at a time is allowed by our Covenants.

We also want to remind residents that business signs are not allowed to be displayed in your yards.

UPDATE ON FRONT ENTRANCE REFRESH

The first week’s work on our front entrance project was very dramatic as our vendor, Great Estates, spread herbicide on the grass and removed plants from the center island. During the second week there was little obvious progress. The time was used to assess the irrigation and electrical systems, obtain and approve quotes for the additional work, line up vendors, order plants and allow the herbicide time to do its work. In addition, Great Escapes was required to complete the much-delayed Courthouse Square renovation.

On Monday the work will begin again, the electric and irrigation systems will be repaired and re-configured bringing electricity and water to the center island, new lighting, sod and plants will be installed.

We expect the project to go on for another ten days. Please be mindful of the safety of the workers by being cautious as you drive by the site or by using the other two entrances to the subdivision. If you have any questions about this project please reply to this email, post a comment on Facebook or contact any of the Board of Directors.

Thank You,
The Covington Place HOA Board of Directors

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW:

The fabulous CP Social Committee is at it again coming up with awesome events for residents to participate in and enjoy. Please mark the following 3 events on your calendar now so that you don't miss out on them:

POOL CLOSING PARTY - On Sunday, September 28th from 2:00-5:00pm! Several grills will be available for you to use. Bring your own meat (hamburgers, hotdogs, etc.), drinks, and a side dish or dessert to share.

CHILI/SOUP COOK OFF - On Saturday, November 8th from 2:00-5:00pm. Last year's event was so much fun that we've extended it to include soup this year. More details closer to the date.

ANNUAL GOLF CART PARADE & HOLIDAY LIGHTS - On Saturday, December 20th. More details closer to the date.

FALL YARD SALE DATE SET

We will host our Annual Fall Yard Sale on Saturday, October 25th from 8:00am to 4:00pm. All you need to do if you wish to participate is put balloons on your mailbox and set up shop in your driveway.

We need someone to volunteer to place the ads in the Newton Citizen and also put up/take down the signs at all 3 entrances. If you are willing to take on this responsibility, please REPLY with your name and email address. THANKS!!!

HOST YOUR EVENT AT THE CP CLUBHOUSE

If you have an upcoming event such as a birthday, anniversary, or other special family event and you don't want to host it at your home, then residents should consider renting our clubhouse instead. The only thing you can't host there is any type of fund-raising event as the clubhouse is for small resident family events only. The maximum size of an event is 40 people.

The rate is $75 during the Pool Season and $50 during non-Pool Season.

Contact Kaye Plitt for all details and a list of your responsibilities if you rent the clubhouse. Kay can be reached at 404-606-8062 or kayep1030@gmail.com

GOT NEW NEIGHBORS? LET US KNOW!

If you have new neighbors next to you or on your street, please ask them to send their email address(es) to tp81854@yahoo.com so that they can be added to our Newsletter. Also, ask them to join our neighborhood Facebook page - "Covington Place Neighborhood Announcements."

GREEN VEHICLE STICKERS

For the overall safety of our neighborhood, the HOA provides each resident with green stickers to be placed on the rear windshield (lower left corner) of each vehicle you own. These stickers do not list our neighborhood name on purpose but are easily recognizable by the Covington Police and all CP residents. They are an extra safety precaution so that you know which vehicles belong in the pool/tennis court parking lot as well as driving around the neighborhood.
.
Send an email to tp81854@yahoo.com and provide your name, street address, and the number of vehicles you have and they will be delivered to your mailbox.
.
If you trade vehicles or get a new one, don't forget to ask for new stickers too!
.
If you'd like a sticker for your golf cart, we can provide those as well. Just let us know!
.
Thanks!
