Warrior Summer Work
~ Dr. Lisa C. Mobley
Well Done Warriors!
Below you will find summer work information to date. Please occasionally check back if your subject is missing. I will update this document if I receive additional information. I will also resend it to ensure you know it has been updated.
Several families have asked for enrichment in World Language. Unfortunately, the enrichment program we use does not have world languages. Below are two free sites for language practice.
Please take some time to relax before getting excited about next year! I am, (but I must admit I am so excited about thinking about next year I am still here!!!)

APUSH
The course description, syllabus and summer reading assignments for APUSH, with hyperlinks to PDF’s of the chapter readings are found on my teacher page on the King Philip Regional High School.
https://www.kingphilip.org/Domain/2121
Students want to click the tab in the margin entitled Summer Assignments.
Later this month. I will be creating a google classroom for APUSH classroom by the end of June. All the summer reading assignments will also be accessible there when that is completed.
I will email all APUSH students at that time inviting them to join google classroom
Summer reading assignments will be due the first day of class next September.
AP Modern World History
Attached to the email I sent all the 2021-2022 WHAP students are PDF files that you can print out to do your summer assignment. You will go to the Crash Course World History page on Youtube, and you will watch the videos numbered 1-14. For each video, you will complete the worksheet that I attached, but you do not have to write the 50-100 word summaries for each of the 14 videos. These worksheets will be collected on the first day of the 2021 school year, and as long as you have completed these worksheets to the best of your ability, you will get a 100 on a quiz grade. If you do not have these worksheets on the first day of school, you will get a zero on a quiz grade. Please bring them to school in a manila folder or just any regular folder will do. Make sure your name is on the folder so I can give you credit for the work. If you have any questions about the assignments, please email me mccormackj@kingphilip.org
In addition to the “Crash Course” videos and worksheets, students will also need to buy and read a 311 page book titled, A History of the World in 6 Glasses. (as low as $11 used on Amazon) The book explains how six different drinks were related to important civilizations, trade routes, and relationships between cultures. Beer, wine, and spirits are included in this book, and I wanted to let parents and students know that I did not choose this book because I condone underage drinking. The book came highly recommended by many AP World History teachers because it introduces many eras of history in a very accessible manner. The book does also not glorify alcohol, but instead, it focuses on how these beverages led to cross-cultural connections. During the first week of school, the students will also take a 25 question multiple-choice quiz on the “six glasses” book.
