Last Month's Recap

February Higlights

Athletics & Fitness

We kicked off the new medal league volleyball this February and had fantastic registration numbers! This has been a great opportunity for our youth athletes!

Aquatics

The pool continues to hold group swim lessons and private swim lessons for ages ranging from 6 month olds to adults! The Cambridge Blue Fins finished out their season with an End of Year Celebration including awards and a pool party!

CAP Care

CAP CARE Staff continues to seek out professional development classes. In January our team participated in the following classes, Making learning fun, Do it yourself STEM, Developing children's portfolios, Fundamentals of infant and toddler care, and Trauma informed care. Registration opened for 3-4K 2022-2023 as well as Day Camp with a record number of registrations already. Mindfulness and yoga continue to be a highlight of the day, both during 3-4K and after school on days when we can't go outside. For this reason, CAP CARE purchased yoga mats that our friends enjoy using.

Food Pantry

Food pantry is open every first and third Monday of the month from 5:30-7:00 and is offering delivery to anyone who needs it! Please contact the food pantry for info at foodpantry@cambridge.k12.wi.us

The Community Cafe will be back June 2, hosted by Cambridge CAP! We are looking for groups to host future meals. If you are interested, please contact the food pantry!

Park, Recreation, & Youth

The Youth Center had great attendance for the month of February welcoming all students who hung out here before and after sports and activities. We enjoyed activities such as game tournaments and were happy to get back into the gym to play. The Youth Center also hosted a "Laser Tag Showdown" event sponsored by Cambridge Family Dental. Participants enjoyed a pizza dinner and battling teammates in a course made in the Historic School Gym. We look forward to our Ski & Snowboard trip coming up in March, along with our Fundraising Night on April 23rd.

Community seniors enjoyed a fantastic Valentine charcuterie board at Cambridge Market Cafe while spending time with great friends and making new ones. At the end of the month, they celebrated Mardi Gras while enjoying jambalaya made by Cambridge Market Cafe and King Cake. Special thank you to Shannon Welsh for her educational talk on the history of Mardi Gras and to Cambridge Family Dental for sponsoring the event.

Ripley Park hosted the Dip for Dozer in February and is thankful to be able to be a year-round place for community activities such as this. Park passes go on sale today and can be purchased online at cambridgecap.net. Shelter reservations are in full swing so check out the calendar online for availability and price information. **New this year- shelter reservations include admissions, large group charcoal grill installed outside of Ripley Shelter and a gas grill for rent at Ripley Shelter.
