Alief ISD Spotlights, Communications and Announcements
Alief ISD has two additional All-State Musicians.
In addition to Kerr High School students Mark Wright and Daniel Cobos, TMEA has recently announced that Kerr High School student Zoe Hall and Elsik High School student Daniel Rivas-Velasco were also named to All-State Band.
Hall earned 1st chair for Oboe in the All-State Honor Band. Zoe and her family chose Alief for her high school education. Rivas-Velasco earned 8th chair for Trumpet in the All-State Band. Daniel also placed in the Region 23 Orchestra and Jazz Band. He has attended Alief schools since Pre-K, including Chancellor, Kennedy, Mata, Holub, and Elsik Ninth Grade Center.

Youngblood Intermediate School was spotlighted by KPRC for its partnership with The Mission Continues.
Elsik High School student Yassin Mabizari was recognized by FOX 26's Making the Grade.

Alief ISD students and staff celebrated the legacy of Dr. King at the 45th Annual Original MLK Day Parade.
