Building our Library Learning Commons

As we work to build our Library Learning Commons, book shopping, cataloging, and construction continues.....

While we wait for our collaborative learning space to be completed, listed below are some resources and upcoming special events that you may wish to incorporate into your program.

Selection of Picture Books Available

As we await the delivery of our library collection, we do have a small selection of picture books available to share in the Guidance office. If you wish to borrow a book, please sign it out on the sheet provided.

Professional Library

Again, as we anticipate the arrival of our collection, the professional library can be a valuable resource. You can search their online database and then place a hold on a book that you are interested in, using your employee number. They will then send you the book through the courier, which you may borrow for up to four weeks. Check out their website for many links to professional and eResources:

International Dot Day

Thank you for making our first Dot Day a success! It was wonderful to see so much participation and creativity throughout our school.

World Smile Day - October 3rd

October 3rd is recognized as World Smile Day. Everyone is encouraged to "Do an act of kindness. Help one person Smile". Please click on the link for more information about this "happy" day.

Canadian Library Month

October is recognized by the Canadian Library Association as Canadian Library Month. Please encourage your students to visit our public libraries.

Fire Prevention Week - October 5 - 11th

The week of October 5th - 11th is recognized as Fire Prevention Week. This year's message is: "Working smoke alarms save lives! Test yours every month!" Please click the link for more information about this important safety reminder.
