Hearne Husky Update
3-19-2020
Quick Updates
I hope you are all doing well during this difficult time. I know you are on Spring Break and are probably doing your best to relax and recharge. Traditional school as we know it has changed. I’m excited to stand with you as we embrace our new normal in educating our students to prepare for the world ahead.
I wanted to update you on some things that we discussed yesterday as a district leadership team. Please add any questions you have to the Google survey below. I promise to get you answers as fast as I can!
- Payroll: All employees that were scheduled to work for the time that we are closed will get paid for their normal scheduled work. Payroll is complete through March 30th. Please watch Mr. Chamber's podcast on ImpactEd for more information.
- Self Reporting: If you are feeling sick, please make sure you seek medical attention and self-report by letting Katina Gordon at Risk Management know as soon as possible. Please take care of yourself and your family.
- Access to Hearne: Our building will remain closed until April 10. This means there will be no access to the building at ALL (including me) to anyone who is not first provided with clearance. Any access to the building needs to be cleared through the district.
- Back to work: All staff will be required to report to work virtually on March 23. We will have a virtual staff meeting around 10am. Our Digital Learning Team has been working closely with Ms. Scott and I to come up with a plan to deliver instruction to our students remotely. I believe we are in a good position for this process and have the necessary tools to do it well. Please approach this new process with an open mind and positive thoughts.
Please make sure you have a computer or access to a computer and a space to work as we move to working remotely during this interim time period. Please visit www.aliefisd.net/learn for more information. Please complete the survey below by Sunday so we have an idea who is in need of technology support to move to virtual learning online. All staff should complete the survey by Sunday.
Enjoy the rest of your Spring Break, be safe, and stay positive. Our physical and mental strength are needed to finish this quarter strong. When we come back (virtually) on Monday, March 23rd, I will be working closely with Admin, ILT, and your team leaders to ensure that you get the support you need to make this new process a positive experience for all involved. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or text me or your supervisor.
Sending you lots of patience and positivity!
Take care,
Johanna
