From the Desk of the Principal
As I write this message, more than 1/3 of the school year has been completed. The students and staff members at Lisbon Elementary are working diligently toward their goals and are growing on a daily basis. It is a pleasure to work with your children daily and to see them grow in so many ways. Our winter break has arrived, and 2019 will be here before we know it. Our last day of classes is today, Friday, December 21, and students will report back to school on Wednesday, January 2.
It has been another outstanding month here at Lisbon with two magical evenings of music! A few weeks ago, our Orchestra students performed beautifully at both their daytime and evening concerts. Last week, our Band, Chorus, and Handbell Ensemble was absolutely amazing! I want to thank all our parents, grandparents, friends, and family members who came out in support of our very talented students! A great big THANK YOU to Mr. Carter for his hard work and dedication to our Lisbon music programs. Their leadership and talents are like none other in the county and we are truly lucky to have them here at Lisbon with us!
We want to personally thank all of our parents who have been attending our monthly PTA meetings. It is truly great to see your involvement in your child’s education. Our PTA provides many programs and events for our LES school community. For our November parent-teacher conferences, PTA provided a fabulous dinner to our Lisbon staff from Olive Garden. Thank you!
I would like to wish all of our families a safe and joyous Holiday Season! During the break, I hope that you experience a slower pace with some time to relax and build fond memories that will be treasured in the years ahead. It has been a wonderful year, and the students and staff at Lisbon Elementary are looking forward to making 2019 even better. Our Lisbon Lines newsletter will return in the New Year on January 11, 2019. Thank you for all of your involvement and support.

Mark Your Calendars!
Thank you Lisbon Lions for helping us raise $585.00 from BoxTops for Education! Contest winners will be announced next week. Our next campaign will be Collect 100 Box Tops by the 100th day of school! Keep collecting those tops!
Love for Cooper
Are you looking to support the Trueblood family? With frequent trips to and from the hospital, the family could use our support for things like gas, meals away from home, and specific items for Cooper. Gift cards are ideal (Visa and Amazon are two good general ones.), and these are being collected in the front office. You can drop them off or send them to school in an envelope marked “Cooper Trueblood.” Your thoughts and prayers are great gifts, too!
Where to Find Us
Please follow us on Facebook! Visit www.facebook.com/LisbonESPTA or search for “Lisbon Elementary School PTA.” And if you haven’t checked out the Lisbon ES PTA website, please do! At www.lisbonpta.org you’ll find a calendar of events, parent resources, forms, open volunteer positions and more! We would love to have your feedback on programming for the year, too. You’ll find a survey link on the home page.
