Super Book Return Challenge
Last spring, as the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, school buildings closed, and students moved to a digital learning environment to help flatten the curve. During those months, book bags and their contents were parked on desks, dropped on closet floors, and shoved under beds. While Gwinnett school buildings have reopened, a number of students have continued to learn digitally, and others, who may be in-person, may have forgotten about the library book they checked out last spring. As a result, about 80,000 Gwinnett school library books remain at home.
To get those books back into circulation, Gwinnett County Public Schools is hosting the SUPER Book Return Challenge during Super Bowl Week—February 1-5! GCPS is challenging students to look everywhere for library books that they checked out last year and return them to any school or Gwinnett County public library branch.
- Take the Super Book Return Challenge February 1-5! Drop off school library books at any school or public library branch.
- In-person learners can return books to the Media Center.
- Digital learners can return books to the labeled plastic bin outside the front doors.
- Participate and help Mountain Park win a Book Mobile visit and free books for students!

Helpful Hints to Make Car Riders Successful
- Pull all the way up to the last staff member, even if it is raining.
- Students should have all their belongings, their mask on their face, and be ready to exit the vehicle.
- If it is 8:15 and no staff members are outside, you must pull to the front of the school. The bell has already rung, and students are tardy. Parents should walk students to the door.
