Greetings Westside Families! This week, we are exploring the meaning of LEADERSHIP during class convention. Be sure to ask your child how they showed leadership each day at school!
OPEN HOUSE is Thursday, September 2nd @ 5:30-7p! Your child's teacher will be sending out their classroom link this week. You can also find all links on our website by clicking HERE. Be sure to download the ZOOM app on your devices prior to our event. We will be doing a HUGE giveaway for those families who participate, so save the date!!
Session 1: 5:30p-6:10p
Attend your YOUNGEST child's classroom presentation during this session.
Session 2: 6:15p-7:00p
Attend your next child's session or join Activity, ESE, or ESOL sessions.
*If you have more than 2 children who attend Westside, please attend two classrooms and then find all presentations on our website for the others.*
Per BPS Guidelines, if your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. Masks are optional but recommended to help prevent the spread of germs. We are continuing our efforts to social distance when possible and deep clean all learning environments.
Finally, if you have not "liked" us on Facebook (Westside Elementary), please sign up to get the latest updates and photo posts of all the great things happening around campus.

Westside Explorers Are Learning Every Moment of Every Day!
In the Media Center, Kindergarteners played fun games to learn hand-eye coordination and how to use a computer mouse. Secondary students are practicing self-checkout in the Media Center this month. They love this new independence and responsibility, and have extra motivation to check out books each week.
Title 1 Status and Benefits
Although all students receive free breakfast and lunch this year under the USDA Meal Flexibility Waiver, we also received grants, special funding, and Title 1 eligibility for having a certain percentage of students that qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch. Even if you do not think you would be eligible, please go to the website and apply to support all these great programs for students. Thank you! Click HERE to apply.
