TEAM DAD Parenting Series

Programs Designed for Fathers of Kids with Special Needs

Shared Experiences for Fathers!

Family S.T.A.R. (Support, Training, Assistance, Resources) is offering a line-up of programs for fathers that uses the lived experiences, advice, and unique perspectives of a father's voice to support other fathers. Our series will consist of "Dad Highlights", a program about fathers who have used their experience to change the world, and "Dads At Bat", programs that use quick paced questions and answers.

DADS AT BAT Program Schedule

We go one-on-one with fathers raising children with disabilities in a quick-paced question and answer session on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. Learn more about how fathers handled learning about their child's diagnosis, how they manage the ups and downs of their family situation, and what tools they use to cope.

DAD HIGHLIGHTS Program Schedule

Join us on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm as we have an in-depth conversation with fathers who have taken their experiences as a parent of a child with a disability and created change in their communities and in the country. Hear about the exciting ways fathers have elevated advocacy to another level.

Join us on the days listed above to connect to our fathers programs!

Family S.T.A.R. (Support, Training, Assistance, Resources) Program

Family STAR (Support, Training, Assistance, and Resources) is through the Family to Family (F2F) Health Information Center of Florida and is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

This program assists families of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) through age 26 to make informed decisions about health care for their children.

Our goal is that families become effective partners in health care decision making at all system levels and to be satisfied with the services they receive.

Family Network on Disabilities has been supporting families and youth with disabilities since 1985. We provide information, resources, support and trainings to families, caregivers, youth, related service projects, professionals, and school districts across the state of Florida. Our website has thousands of resources focused on special education, navigating the Medical and Mental Healthcare Systems for your child, and wellness tools. All our services are provided free of charge.
