Living up to the Standards

Presenting the hot-off-the-press National Standards!

The Alaska crew at AASL

We had a great turn-out of Alaskans at November's AASL, and some were in major leadership roles! Several were representatives to Delegate Assembly training on the new standards, and Deborah, who served on the editorial writing team, was a frequent presenter over the course of the conference.

Where to start?

AASL planned ahead for easy access points to the new Standards. The infographic below has great tips (hyperlinked HERE). If you are feeling brave, you might want to head straight to the new Standards portal. That AASL site has all the goodies you'll need to get started. Farther down this page you'll find introduction videos, as well as links to specific pieces of the new Standards.

Three parts: Learner, School Librarian, & School Library

It can be overwhelming thinking about a whole new batch of standards. But don't worry - AASL has it broken down into bite-sized pieces, ready to consume a bit at a time! Get started by clicking the link below for the School Librarian introduction.

New structure

One more thing...
