The virus usually first comes in contact with the host's lung tissue. It infects immune cells called dendritic and macrophages. They infect those cells because they are the first warning system. From there, the infected cells travel to transfer the virus to B and T cells. By then the virus in spread throughout the body by releasing virus particles to the blood.

  • People who are most at risk are those who are not vaccinated. The MMR vaccine is a cheap vaccine that can give immunity from Measles
  • Types of people that could be exposed are those who were near a natural disasters

As the virus travels through the blood, it can infect the capillaries in the skin. The immune cells detect this and release chemicals named nitric oxide and histamines.They destroy the intruders ,but these same chemicals create swelling and damage in host cells. This results in the itchy skin rashes and fevers.
