January 6-9
Welcome to 2015!
News This Week
Welcome Back!
We are expecting a new copy machine today and I'm so excited. I can't wait to get started with all our fun new toys, like our new class Apple TV! I hope everyone had a relaxing break.
Second semester is a step up in skills again, as we are working towards total independence in work and reading. That doesn't mean I won't teach and help, but it does mean students are more responsible for reading tests, writing, and knowing school procedures on their own. It's a work in progress, but we have 2nd grade to get ready for!
Expect report cards to come home Friday. We will be resetting AR goals after we take the STAR Reading test this week. The best thing you can do to help is review work that comes home and have your child read to you everyday. Listening to adults read is also a great way to help learn more vocabulary and become better readers.
Friday is out of uniform ONLY for students that met their AR point goal and comprehension goal. They must meet BOTH. Your child will have a note in their folder if this applies to them.
