Good Afternoon...

... and Happy Friday!

I just wanted to send a note home with a few reminders of upcoming events for the next few weeks.

First, a note from Marion Shynal:

Hi Parents

Sorry about the error in the letter regarding our play, Louis La Grenouille!

The dates are Tues, June 16 for the first presentations and then Thurs June 18 for the last presentation in the Library. (12:50--1:30pm)

Hope you can make it!

Cheers, Marion

Science Projects Due

Monday, June 15th

Please be sure to send your child to school on Monday with their completed science project. Thank you!

End of Year Class Party!

Tuesday, June 16 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club

Please contact Susan Dallin-O'Grady if you have any questions regarding this event.

Kindness Club Puppet Show and Presentation to Jenny!

Wednesday, June 17 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Room 110, Hopewell Avenue Public School

The students will be presenting the puppet shows they have made from scratch. They wrote the scripts, prepared the puppets, and painted the sets. It's going to be marvellous! We will also present Jenny with the button maker. Hope you can attend!

Summer Solstice Aboriginal Festival & Competition Pow Wow

Friday, June 19 from 9:30am - 2:30pm

Vincent Massey Park

For our final field trip of the year, we will be heading to Vincent Massey park to partake in the Summer Solstice Education Day! We will be outside for most of the day, rain or shine. So please be sure to prepare your child for the weather. If sunshine is out, please be sure to pack lots of water, a hat, sunscreen and light clothing. If raining, adequate rain gear and rainboots. There will be food vendors on site, so send money at your own discretion.

End of Year Class Party!

Thursday, June 25 from 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Room 317, Hopewell Avenue Public School

We will have an afternoon of fun on the very last day of school. My vision is that we have a potluck style lunch. Instead of the kids each eating their own lunch, would you be willing to send a dish or a snack to be shared by the class? If so, please fill in your name beside the food item on the list found here:

As some of you may be aware already, I will be leaving Hopewell this year. It was a marvellous year and I have been so grateful to spend it with your child. We have had many memorable times that I won't soon forget. The support from all of you has been appreciated and made my job so much easier! I will be off to Abu Dhabi to teach for the next two years, but I will be sure to return in the future.

Have a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing you all next week!
