Who Do You Say I Am?
Megan Hamori, Scripture II, Block E
Bible Verse #1
This Bible verse is very important to me because I think that it truly outlines what Jesus stood for and advocated during His lifetime. One of my favorite things about Jesus is that He is extremely accepting. He does not see color of skin, or gender, or handicaps. All He sees is the kind of person you are within the heart. In my own life, I am constantly advocating for both gender equality and equal rights for all, and because Jesus was someone able to look past certain things that may cause discrimination, I can also follow His example.
This picture reminds me of how I see Jesus because many pictures of Jesus are seen of him in a very serious facial expression, but in this picture he is smiling, welcoming you into His kingdom. His open arms and warm expression really makes me happy to be able to know Him.
Jesus As A Sunset
This picture, although not of Jesus directly, reminds me of Him because of the power that is held in it. Every day, we have ample opportunities to see things that simply take our breath away, and for me, the sunset never fails to. The sheer magnificence in this picture shows that Jesus manifests in our lives in so many different areas that we may not notice unless one looks for them.
This picture reminds me of Jesus' character as well as his physical appearance. Jesus, the Son of God and the Son of Man, is still humbled enough to get on his knees and pray to God, showing that nobody, not even the most powerful, should ever think that they are above God. It reminds me to remain modest and humble in my every day life, so I can better represent Jesus.
Jesus As A Sunset
Bible Verse #2
This passage is very meaningful to me because it reminds me that no matter what I do or where I go, or what circumstance I am in, God is always with me. He protects me through any type of hardship that I may suffer, which gives me an extreme sense of comfort because I know that even if things go terribly wrong, God is there to help me back up. The aspect of Jesus being constantly there with us is comforting, adding to His kindness and love for all people.
