Stay healthy!
Influenza or “Flu” and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. The SM health department has asked us to include these two pieces of information for you:
Furthermore, the school district sent a communication to all families this week regarding the Coronavirus. Please click here for that information.
Because the common cold and the flu have similar symptoms, it can be difficult to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. In general, flu is worse than the common cold, but symptoms are more common and intense. Colds are usually milder than flu but persist longer. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations. Flu can have very serious associated complications.
Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctor visits and missed school and work time due to flu. If you need help finding a flu shot please contact Mrs Dehli, the District Nurse. Adehli@sdsm.k12.wi.us

Peanut Butter Challenge
Lakeview is collecting peanut butter to benefit South Milwaukee Human Concerns, our
local food pantry. All the peanut butter you can bring in the next week will go towards a
competition we are having with the other elementary schools in South Milwaukee. The winner with the most peanut butter collected will have a banner presented to our school by the South
Milwaukee Fire Department, which we will keep until next year’s competition. Let’s
make this the best collection ever and see what we can collect together as a school!
