Newborns are screened for PKU

May experience loss of color or rashes, body odor, hyperactivity, slow growth.

Can last for years or be lifelong.

-Cant be cured, but treatment may help.

-Lab tests or imaging always required.

-Treatment includes a strict diet with limited protein.
