The 60's
Bryce Haynes
John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy was a very likable person. He was handsome, smart, and well spoken. During his campaign for the 1960 election televised debates first came out. Many voters liked Kennedy because he spoke so well in the debates. He promised to reinvigorate foreign policy. I think that this was a good choice for the United States because the Republicans weren't really getting things done so it was time for the Democrats to take a shot at it. JFK had a big impact on society he was very truthful, he did what he said he was going to do. He was very fair to blacks and whites, he wanted justice and equality. I think that JKF was killed because the killer thought that he was too young for the job.

Lyndon B. Johnson
After JFK was assassinated there were many things that were "unfinished". One of the first things that LBJ did was pass the Civil Rights Act. He also signed the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. He also focused on the war on poverty. I think that LBJ was a good leader to follow JFK because he did what JFK would've done. LBJ and JKF had some long lasting effects on society. One long lasting effect was civil rights, this still is a law today that you cannot discriminate. Another long lasting effect was the war on poverty, presidents today still are focusing on the unemployment rate.
Miranda vs. Arizona
I agree with the ruling of the Supreme court because even though he was not given the option of a lawyer during questioning he still did it. The case of Miranda vs. Arizona pushes towards Civil Rights because it is basically like Civil Rights. He did not get his rights and civil rights was not happening. They were trying to push for both of these.
