End of the Year Thank You from the Principal

Marsh Gators,

Thank you for another wonderful and productive school year! I am so proud of each and everyone of you and the hard work you have put in throughout this school year. I am honored to be your principal, and you make me proud to be a Gator! Thank you to all the parents and family members who have been there to support your Gators through this educational year. It takes a village, and we could not have done it without your support. To all of my amazing 8th graders, I want you to know that I am extremely grateful for the time we had together. I know that it was not what you expected your middle school experience to be. However, I have no doubt that you all came out even that much stronger for having to work through your struggles. I am extremely humbled at how all of you have shown such flexibility, grace, and compassion through these challenging times. As we close out the school year together, I want you all to know how lucky I feel to have something so great that it makes saying goodbye hard to do. I wish you all a wonderful summer ahead!

With Gratitude,

Jessica Kamph

Letter From the Editor

Good morning/Afternoon all!

My name is Ben Boyer, Marsh Junior high School’s IA-Computers, and I have been your editor for this year's Newsletter! It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to assemble and publish this newsletter for you all each week. Over the two school years which I have worked at Marsh, I have seen all of your students grow so much and really get back on their feet. It's very clear that from all of the effort your students have put in that they have bright futures ahead of them! Working with Marsh has also given me the inspiration to cement my own career path and work towards becoming a Drama/history teacher. If my future students are as wonderful, actively curious, and driven as yours are, then I greatly look forward to my career in education.

Yours truly, Ben Boyer

8th Grade Dance

A huge thank you to PTSO, ASB, and all the parents, teachers, and chaperones who came to support our 8th graders.

Parents we need your help

Parents we need your help on Wednesday mornings!

There have been ongoing behavior issues with students at 7-11 on late start Wednesdays. Moving forward, Chico PD will be monitoring behaviors. If your child is going to visit the 7-11 area, please talk with them about appropriate behaviors. Please keep in mind, that if a student is dropped off at the Marsh campus, they are NOT to leave. This would be considered a cut, and the student will be assigned Saturday School.

Thank you for your support as we wind down the school year!

WEB Spring Play Date

Future 8th grade WEB Leaders recieved some training on the activities they will be asked to do with some of our upcoming Gators. WEB stands for "Where Everyone Belongs" and consits of 8th graders who act as mentors to incoming 6th graders. These students reconnect throughout the school year and help to assure that the transition from elementary to junior high is as smoth as possible.

Current Gators Visit future Gators at Parkview Elementary

This last week we had 7 former Parktastic students visit the future Gators at Parkview Elementary. They provide future Gators with information and insight regarding their upcoming transition to Junior High. They were able to answer questions about sports, lock rooms, staying organized, elective classes, finding clases, and much more. This was a wonderful experience for both of our Parktastic and Gatorific students!

Esports Update!

NCEL Spring Invitational, put on by the Butte County Office of Education, Northern California Esports League (NCEL), STS Education, and the Western Regional Middle School Esports Conference was held May 14th at Central Middle School. The tournament boasted over 22 players from 4 different middle schools from Northern California. Starting in the morning they othered 2 on 2(2v2) competition as well as 1 on 1 (1v1). 5 Gators participated in the 1v1 competition. The format was a random ranking and students where then allowed to battle for challenge tokens (tokens used to rank each player). The winner would get the higher ranking token. At the end of the day, Gators finished with the following rankings:

4th place: Nathan Van Laan

8th place: Ayden Hansen

9th place: Colby Hansen

11th place: Nathan Hamilton

Please bring proof of immunization to the health office as soon as possible to get a better chance of getting your preferred elective. If your student does not have proof of this vaccine by August 15th they will not be able start school until they get it.
