The scientific name of the Great Auk is Pinguinus Impennis.


The Great Auk has two legs. It cannot fly even though it is a bird. Its wings are very small. It is a very powerful swimmer but clumsy on land.

The Great Auk was 75-85 cm tall and weighed an average of 11 lbs.


The Great Auk lived in coastal waters in the North Atlantic.


The Great Auk lived in Northern Spain, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Ireland, Faroe Islands, and Great Britian.
