Bear With me While I Tell you About These Furocious Creatures
What do you know about grizzly bears? The grizzly bear is one of the smartest animals on earth. Huge, powerful hunters, with claws more than 4 inches long, a grizzly can reach speeds of 35 miles per hour. It is fearsome, with the best sense of smell of any North American animal.
Imagine not eating for 3 or 4 months. Grizzlies spend all summer and fall eating as much food as they can. During hibernation the grizzly doesn’t eat or drink. It lives only from its layer of fat. Once they wake up and start foraging for food in the spring, they face one of their biggest enemies—man.
Luckily, grizzlies are still safe in protected parks like Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.
