Happenings from August/September 2018
Welcome to Hogwarts!
All Aboard The Hogwarts Express!
Floating Candles
Harry Potter Mania
This year's theme in the library is all things Harry Potter! We have Hogwarts, the Hogwarts Express, Platform 9 3/4 and even floating candles throughout the library.
New Books
We started off the new school year with 133 new books! What a great way to get things started!
Library Orientation
The first week of September was all about library orientation and book care. Third-fifth graders tested their knowledge in a friendly competition of Quizziz on the library iPads.
International Dot Day
Our campus celebrated International Dot Day in September. The Dot by Peter Reynolds is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.
We celebrated by wearing clothes with dots, creating our own dots and other fun activities!
Enchanted Book Fair
Our Fall Book Fair is coming in October! It will be held the week of October 15-19. We will stay open late on Tuesday the 16th until 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we will be open until 3:30. In order to have time to pack up the Book Fair, we will be closing at noon on Friday the 19th.
We love to have volunteers to help out. Please contact Mrs. Hinton at chinto@neisd.net or drop by the school if you are interested in helping out. Al volunteers must have completed a background check prior to volunteering.
