From The Principal
Happy Friday,
Thank you so much to our families that have donated to the Friends of Collins. Each homeroom has set a goal of $1000 by next Friday. Thank you for helping make that goal a reality!
Keep in mind this money goes directly back to the students. The field trips for 5th and 6th grade and end of the year field days cost 30,000+. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Plan ahead - Friday, October 7th and Monday, October 10th are student holidays.
Wishing you a joyful upcoming weekend
Shelli LeBlanc
PTO Updates
The Friends of Collins fundraiser continues until September 30, 2022. We are over halfway to our goal, with Mrs. Scott's and Mrs. Martinez's homerooms in the lead!
Teachers/Staff Achieving Excellence
Parents and students can create a TAE (Teacher/Staff Achieving Excellence) to send a note and comment on the great work your child's teacher is doing in the classroom. TAE's can be found in Parent Access Center. It means a great deal to staff members to receive positive feedback.

Nurse Kendall's Updates
We are still working on vision and hearing screenings. You will hear from us if your child does not pass.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SEND MEDICATIONS WITH YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL. THIS INCLUDES COUGH DROPS, INHALERS AND ANTIBIOTICS.
The following is an excerpt from our district medication policy which can be viewed on https://www.conroeisd.net/department/health-services/medications-at-school/
In the interest of safety for all students, medications cannot be transported to or from school on the school bus. Should your child need to have medication at school, please bring or make arrangements for the medication to be brought to the clinic. For your convenience, many of the local pharmacies will provide a second labeled container for medications needed at school. Please note: If a medication is required daily or twice-a-day, please administer at home. Many three-times-a-day orders may also be given at home unless the doctor requests specific time during school day.
Another reminder from the Student Handbook page 56:
Crutches and Wheelchairs: Students who require the temporary use of crutches or a wheelchair at school must have an order from their physician.
September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month
The U.S. Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion recognizes September as National Childhood Obesity Month. CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity has Tips to Help Children Maintain a Healthy Weight. Parents can find resources to help kids stay at a healthy weight on MyHealthfinder.
