Field Trip!!

Our field trip to Strawtown Park is this Thursday, April 30. Students will need a completely disposable lunch and drink. Much of the field trip takes place outside so be sure your child is dressed for the weather that day and wears tennis shoes.

Field Day volunteers needed

Field Day at TCE will be Friday, May 22. Mr. Cushman and the Field Day committee is in need of many volunteers to help with this fun-filled day. A sign up form was sent home yesterday. If you can help please complete the form and return it to school.

Things we are collecting...

There are several items that we are always collecting at school. Feel free to send them in whenever you need to.

  • April 22 was the last day to send in bottle caps.
  • Boxtops
  • Campbells Labels for Education

Coming up next week....

Reading- We will be reading non-fiction material about animal habitats. We will be learning how to take facts from the story and put them in our own words. We will later be using this information to present what we learned.

Spelling - New spelling lists will be sent home Monday. The test will be Friday May 8th.

Our sight words for this test are: wash, show, hot, because, far

Writing - We will be working on some ideas from science on how to improve the habitat around TCE and our community. We have been discussing some great ideas and now it is time to decide how to proceed with those ideas.

Math - We will continue to learn about fractions. Students will learn how to divide shapes into 2 parts and 4 parts. We will talk about equal vs. non equal divisions of shapes and learn the terms, halves, quarters and fourths when talking about fractions.

Science - We will continue our study of begin living vs. non-living things and how they are similar and different.
