Hello, Longwood Families!
During our initial weeks of school, our dedicated staff worked diligently to review and reinforce our school-wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) expectations. Our three school-wide expectations are "Be Safe", "Be Respectful", and "Be Responsible". These expectations foster a positive, nurturing, and productive learning environment for every child.
On Friday students and staff participated in a "Procedure Parade" where all of our school-wide routines and expectations were reviewed. We wrapped up the day with our first school-wide assembly where Mr. Hightower shared information about Den Dollars, our Lion's Den school store, and upcoming Longwood Leader assembly. L Wood, our school mascot, stopped by, too! We encourage your family to discuss the school-wide expectations with your child and ways they demonstrate leadership through modeling what is expected.
Safety continues to be a top priority at Longwood, and part of that commitment includes regular drills to prepare for various emergency situations. During the month of September, we will conduct a variety of drills to ensure students and staff are prepared in the event of fire, severe weather, or other emergencies. On Monday, September 18th, we will practice our first Fire Drill.
Let MOD Pizza do the cooking on Tuesday, September 19th and raise some dough for Longwood! See the flyer below for MOD Pizza Restaurant Night. Grab a slice and join us at 7:00 for our Virtual PTA meeting: Meeting Link. We are alternating monthly between in person and virtual meetings this year!
Please continue reading for photo highlights of our week and additional reminders. Thank you for staying connected!
Have a wonderful weekend, Lions! Thank you for being a part of our Pride!
