SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW!
I am sure that you need no reminder, but school begins tomorrow. Our school day begins at 8:15AM.
Please note that parking will definitely be a problem tomorrow as many parents will want to walk their children to class for the first day, so be prepared and have a positive attitude about it. The back PE court will be opened for parking in addition to the front parking lot. You may also park on the street or at Fraternity Baptist church (as long as you remove your car by 8:30AM).
We will have staff and student safety patrols on hand to assist students who are being dropped off at the drop off zone as well as to find their way to classrooms.
If you wish for your child to take part in school breakfast, they may come to school between 7:20 and 7:50. After 7:50AM, we no longer serve breakfast as the students need a little time to eat before class and they go to class at 8AM.
All students arriving early to school, before breakfast is opened, must report to Room 17 in the front of the school. Miss Innocent will be there to receive them.
All unsupervised students who report to school before 8AM (even if they are not going to breakfast) must also report to and remain in the cafeteria until they are dismissed to classrooms at 8AM. Younger children are picked up by their teachers at 8AM. Older children are dismissed one class at a time to walk to their rooms.
We do have early release tomorrow and Tuesday as these are "soft open" days for our students and staff. Please note the early release times below and if you are picking up your child, pull into the line at the appropriate time. OOS is available for those students who are not picked up.
Note - please make sure that your child and your teacher know if your child will be picked up or will be going to OOS. This is very important. Send an email if you cannot inform the teacher yourself and you feel that your child will not remember or understand. All teacher's email addresses are on our website www.holycrossnorthmiami.org.
Summer reading assignments should be turned in by Wednesday.
Early Release times:
PK, K4 and K5 - 11:30AM
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th - 11:45AM
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th: Noon
Each class has a zone to wait for pickup. Adults will be in the parking lot to assist. Have your ID ready if we do not recognize you (applies to the office as well).
Expect pickup to be challenging for the first week or two and have a positive attitude about it as we need to learn the parents and the cars and the kids and who goes with who. It takes time.
Have a great Sunday and we will see you tomorrow.
Blessings,
Mrs. Mackey

It is the responsibility of the parents to monitor their child’s adherence to the school dress code and uniform policy. Consequences may apply for lack of compliance. As per our code of conduct, students are expected to dress in accordance with his/her own biological sex.
One change: We will allow the v-neck knit sweater from Ibiley as an alternative to the fleece jacket for 3nd thru 8th grade.
