Friendship
A lot of people think they are friends with the people they hang around with but are they really friends? In the book That Was Then This Is Now by S.E. Hinton the two "friends" Bryon and Mark hung out a lot having fun. But the question is were they ever really friends to begin with? The author's message about friendship is sometimes a friendship can end poorly. In that note i have my own message, if a friendship can end poorly then maybe you were never friends in the beginning. Mark trusted Bryon to be there and listen to him. After Bryon met Cathy he started to change and grow up. In the end he lost his "friend". Someone who cant listen to you explaining why you did something doesn't deserve you in their life. Never stay friends with someone that wont let you explain yourself.
Friendship is all about trust, if you cant trust someone then are they really your friend? Think about that. "A person who you like and enjoy being with" is someone else's definition of friendship. (www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/friend). I think she means that the people you like to be with or can be yourself around are the friends that will always be there with you.
Always be honest!
If you arent honest with the people that you enjoy being with then why be friends? Dont be around someone who lies to you all the time. If they arent honest with you then when are you ever going to be able to trust them? A lot of friendships are lost because one friend lies to the other. If you can't trust your friend then there is no actual friendship. It hurts when you find out that your friend has been lying to you.
