Kindergartners recently learned about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. during the month of January. As an activity, the class was able to color and read a booklet about MLK, Jr.
Along with hearing stories of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the impact he continues to have, the class worked on a project in which they compared a brown egg and a white egg. They each held the eggs and compared them, based on how they looked, felt, etc. The class came to understand that, although the eggs were different on the outside, "they are the same on the inside," just like we are. Finally, the kindergartners made important connections to how Jesus and Martin Luther King, Jr. both taught everyone to treat one another equally.
