Silent Auction Needs Volunteers
Dear Parents,
Seeking fun people!! We still need volunteers to help with the online silent auction and Gala, both taking place in March. You need not attend the Wednesday morning meetings to participate, so if getting to the morning meetings or time commitment has been a worry, you can still join our team! There are many different ways to take part in this wonderful fundraiser for the school, and the more help we get, the more successful the events will be. Contact Linnea McAr (linnea13@gmail.com, 917.826.8591) to discuss! This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the school through your participation in the event preparation alone!
IT'S GALA TIME!
Has it really been a year since our last Gala Auction? Time flies so fast and we keep coming back for more because this is such a fabulous night. We are back at the Phyllis Morris Showroom where we've had so many elegant gala evenings.
Information and forms will go home in backpacks this week. In the meantime, here's how you can be involved:
Save the Date. Book your babysitter and get ready for a fun, adult evening of mingling, eating and drinking, and bidding on exciting items, including trips, hotels, restaurants, sporting goods, health and beauty treatments, and so much more! Our gala auction is on Saturday, March 21 from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. The live auction portion, during which we auction some of our most sought-after items, will be held at the end of the evening so plan to make a night of it. Tickets will be available the week of February 2.
Tap your Resources. Have a favorite restaurant where you're a regular? Or a corporate connection or insider access to Hollywood happenings or items? We're hoping for at least 2 donations from each of our families to make sure there's plenty to bid on. Most businesses are very happy to help out schools so it's easy to ask.
After you get a "yes", please do the following:
1. Have the donor fill out either the online donation form or printed form (you can take one with you when you ask).
2. Bring the item and the form to the box in the office near Ovsanna's desk.
3. Get donations in by March 2 so we can list your donation in our catalog. We'll recognize you as the item solicitor or donor.
We're also seeking auction sponsors. If you know a business that may want to promote themselves to our school community (or you'd like to advertise your own business), let them know that ads start at just $50. Please have the business submit a sponsorship form and we'll be in touch to get artwork and copy.Attend a Meeting. Trust us, there's more than enough for everyone who wants to pitch in. Come to a meeting (Wednesday mornings; our next meeting is on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 8:20 in B5). Or if you have some time there are many things that can be done right from home. Contact Linnea at linnea13@gmail.com if you have ideas or want to get involved.
We count on our wonderful parent community to help make this big undertaking a success. Thank you!
