Blake Douglas was our Star of the Week and we loved looking at his pictures of his family.
It's hard to believe that Fall conferences are right around the corner- September 23rd and 24th. Look for information on Monday to learn how you can schedule your conference online. I am so excited to share your child's progress with you!
Thank you for the support of our fundraiser and remember that fundraiser packets and the Scholastic book order are due TODAY. Last day to turn in anything is Monday, September 8th! Our kindergarten class read the most minutes last week, so don't forget to READ and RECORD your minutes. The Gladiators Hat Trick reading program came home and all students need to do is read any 3 books and return form to me by October 3rd to earn a free ticket to a November game.
LANGUAGE ARTS
- Focusing on letter sounds l, f, b, and ai in our Jolly Phonics program
- Writing our name correctly with correct upper and lowercase letters
- Recognizing and reading color words
- Blending sounds to make words
- Focusing on features of print
- Establishing routines for Reading workshop
- Practicing three ways to read a book: 1- Read the pictures. 2- Read the words. 3- Retell the story
- Building stamina for Read to Self
- Learning routines for Writing workshop; focus on writing is just telling on paper
- Using oral language to relate experiences, expand vocabulary, and interact socially
