Garfield Family News
September 13th, 2020
Welcome to week two of online learning! Last week, more than half of our students logged in every single day, which is a great start! This week, our goal is to have 80% of out students login each day this week (students with tech issues are still marked present). Below are more attendance updates, including the importance of logging in each day. This week, you'll receive a phone call if your child was not logged in last week. Don't forget, we're here to help and if anything is needed, please let us know.
This Thursday, September 17th, we'll host a Supply Pick Up Day from 2p-6p. Supplies may include (based on grade level):

Student Attendance
Did you know?
- Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade or be held back.
- Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance.
- When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.
