The RMS Summer Program is back!
Rombout Middle School is running a 4-week Summer Academy that will be broken up into two sessions. Session 1 runs July 11-21 and Session 2 runs August 1-11. The goal of this program is to provide students with a well-rounded enrichment experience and set students up for success as they enter into a new grade. Classes and activities will take place 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) and the program is open to any student going into 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the 2022-2023 school year. Spaces in the program will be limited due to staffing restraints and the expectation is that the student will commit to an entire two-week program; students may enroll in just one session or can enroll in both sessions. We will be offering enrichment classes in the following subjects: Math, Science (6th and 7th only), English Language Arts, Spanish (8th grade only), and Physical Education. 8th graders who did not pass Spanish I in the 2021-2022 SY will have the opportunity for high school credit recovery during this program and must attend both sessions.
Each of the two week sessions will include two field trips. Students must attend classes in order to attend the field trips. There is no cost to participate and district transportation will be provided. Breakfast and lunch will be served, at the beginning and at the end of each day. Guidance will be contacting the families of individual students who have been recommended for the summer enrichment program. However, the program is open to any student who wants to participate. In order to be accepted, each student must sign up following the registration process below.
