2ND GRADE FIRST RECONCILIATION

Mrs. Brown and Ms. Wilder's 2nd Grade classes have had a busy and faith-filled week. The students participated in an off-campus retreat on Tuesday at the Ave Maria Hall in preparation for the sacrament of Penance, followed by First Reconciliation at the Cathedral last night.

Loving God, help us to teach our ICCS students that you love us totally and unconditionally. Help us to encourage our children to grow in love and to learn how to say sorry, knowing that you always forgive. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

PK LEARNS ABOUT ARCTIC ANIMALS

Mrs. DuRousseau and Mrs. Forsyth's PK friends learned about arctic animals last week. The students participated in several "polarizing" activities and experiments that helped them understand the unique characteristics of animals living in the tundra region.

4TH GRADE POETRY UNIT ACTIVITY

Mrs. Schlang's 4th Grade students have spent the last few weeks learning about different types of poetry. The students recently tried their hand at writing poems of their own. Here is a sample of their work! Elle DeRousseau wrote this poem using the poetic devices anaphora, the repeating of phrases at the beginning of each line.

.

I have my sisters, always by my side.

I have my sisters, leading me with pride.

I have my sisters, sometimes they're sad.

I have my sisters, I make them glad.

I have my sisters always true.

I have my sisters sometimes blue.

I have my sisters always the same.

I have my sisters who never change.

Sometimes we get in fights,

but we will always make it right.

PRAYER AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS

O Mary, you shine continuously along our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
