At The Children’s Museum, we will enjoy exhibits such as: Fireworks of Glass, All Aboard, Dinosphere, The Power of Children, Playscape, Treasures of the Earth, Stories from Our Community, Fables Across Time, Take Me There: China, and Pirates and Princesses.
A copy of the permission slip is included in your child's VIP folder today and a link is included below. The trip cost is $20 per student. 15 chaperone spots are available on a first-come basis. Please remember chaperones MUST have a criminal history background check on file and that siblings are not allowed to attend.
CLASSROOM NOTES
In Reading this week, we worked on:
- the -ee chunk, as in bee continuing our ”hunks and chunks”, recognizing the sounds, forming the letters correctly, and thinking of words that include ee
- rereading for understanding
- understanding cause and effect
In Writing, we continued writing about playing. We thought about a time we were happy playing, what we were playing, where we were, and who we were playing with. We worked hard to help our readers see a picture of us playing in their heads. As well as all the mechanics of writing, we tried to include adjectives in our writing to make it more interesting.
In Math, we have been working on:
- understanding time and recognizing time to the hour
- introducing function machines
- recognizing and understanding the attributes of different kinds of 2D and 3D shapes.
We have also been learning about how we can be good citizen. This is a great introduction to Earth Day next week when we will be learning about how we can help keep our Earth clean and healthy.
