Career Specialist Annual Report -- Period 2

The CSAR Period 2 link will be released on May 11th. This link will be shared with District Level EEDA Accountability Coordinators, District School Counseling Personnel Contacts and School Counselors/Career Specialists who completed the 21-22 Employment Verification Form.



The CSAR Period 2 must be submitted by Friday, May 27th using the link provided on May 11th.


Remember- the 21-22 CSAR Template is available on the Padlet. The Template lists the questions and SEVERAL HELPFUL HINTS to help you successfully complete your CSAR.

PowerSchool Reporting for Work-based Learning

May 27, 2022 is the deadline to enter WBL experiences into PowerSchool. In an email from Kama Staton dated April 7, 2022, she shared the data reported in PowerSchool for the last three years (see image below). WBL data entry instructions, clarification of terms and responses are addressed on pages 124-133 in the Student Information System Data Entry Manual . If you have questions, please contact Kama Staton.

SC College & Career Day Decision Rally

The SC Commission on Higher Education (CHE) will be holding a special event on May 4, 2022 from 10:00am-1:00pm on the State House grounds. Students will be recognized and celebrated for their decisions to attend any college, university, community college, vocational or training program, join the military, or enter the workforce. The event will feature games, college & career resources, food trucks, and more. Please RSVP (indicate number of students who will attend from your high school) to aadams@che.sc.gov or ghampton@che.sc.gov. Legislative delegates will be notified of schools attending and encouraged to meet with your students.

Military Cords and State Recognition Day

The South Carolina Department of Education is pleased to recognize high school seniors who will be entering the military or attending a military service academy with a red, white, and blue honor cord to be worn during graduation ceremonies. In addition to wearing these honor cords at individual graduation ceremonies, eligible students are invited to attend a statewide recognition ceremony where state, education, and military leaders will publicly recognize them for their commitment.

NCAA Advisory Group & Survey

Composed of high school counselors, administrators and other high school educators, the Eligibility Center's Advisory Group meets monthly via teleconference to discuss the most recent needs, trends and challenges facing high school counselors, coaches and others who support student athletes. To be considered, please submit a resume and 500-word statement about why you would like to serve to ecupdate@ncaa.org no later than May 31.

Additionally, the NCAA Eligibility Center is seeking responses to its High School Survey. Please share your interactions with the center no later than May 13.

  • Advance the ideals and standards of career development.

  • To be a vital and integral part of SCACTE and to help plan, develop, and implement its program of work.
