Principal's Message
Families,
As we move into the mid part of the school year, just a quick reminder about the beginning and the end of the day routines now that we have snow and snow gear to deal with.
Morning Drop Off
Arrive between 8:20 and 8:35. Supervision is provided. Students enter school at 8:30 and class begins at 8:40.
Have your children ready to get out of the car on their own, and they should exit the car on the right side so they do not cross between cars. Should you need to help them out, please park in the spaces provided and walk your child to the crosswalk.
Pull up as far as possible in the drop-off line. Students will use the sidewalk to walk to their designated waiting spot.
When leaving, please wait for the car in front of you to pull out and do not "pull around" another car.
Dismissal
Car tags are available upon request by emailing or calling the office.
The loading zone will be in the same area as morning drop off.
Please use the car line and refrain from parking and walking to the front of the building.
Pull up as far as possible when loading. We usually are able to load between 5-7 cars at a time.
If your child is not ready when you are in the loading zone, please loop back around and get in line again. This will help us keep the line moving.
Help us by timing your arrival. Our 4K and 5K students will be the first out of the building, followed by 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th will be the last out.
Finally, thank you for your continued clear communication with our classroom teachers about your child's end of the day routine and any changes that may occur. We have noticed far fewer late changes and that predictability helps not only school staff, but it helps the boys and girls as well.
Paws Up,
Mr. Schreiber

4K/5K Registration January 18-29
Registration for children in the Oconomowoc Area School District entering four-year-old and five-year-old kindergarten will be held from January 18-29, 2021.
Parents can register their children between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on January 19. Children currently enrolled in four-year-old kindergarten in the Oconomowoc Area School District are not required to register as they are already enrolled in our District.
New-to-the-district parents with children who will be four-years-old or five-years-old on or before September 1, 2021, will be receiving health, immunization, and school registration forms in the mail. Those forms should be completed and brought to the school the child will be attending on the registration dates and a copy of the child's birth certificate, and proof of residency. State law requires the school to have immunization information on file for all first-time entering students.
Parents with children who will be four-years-old or five-years-old on or before September 1, 2021, but have not received registration information from the District are urged to contact the elementary school where their child will be attending. If you have questions regarding which school your child should attend, please contact Danielle Chaviano (262) 560-2155.
Parents aware of any child who will be four-years-old or five-years-old on or before September 1, 2021, but whose parents have not received a letter, please urge them to register at the elementary school where their child will be attending.
The Oconomowoc Area School District offers a three-year-old screening program available to those children whose parents have concerns about their child's development. Parents can call 262-560-8205 to discuss whether screening is appropriate.
Parents should contact the principal or administrative assistant at the school their child will be attending for more kindergarten registration information. Additional information about the Oconomowoc Area School District enrollment process can be found at www.oasd.org/Enroll.
USDA EXTENDS FREE MEAL PROGRAM
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service has again extended the free student meals program, providing a free breakfast and lunch option for students until June 30, 2021, or until the USDA confirms that funding is no longer available, whichever comes first. As a result, student breakfast and lunch will be free on the days that students are learning at school face-to-face, and the days that students are learning virtually.

New Illness Updates
We strongly encourage you to monitor your child's health continually. It's important to be mindful of any illness symptoms that your child may have before sending them to school. Please keep you child home if they are ill.
If you need information on how to contact your school attendance line, please visit the Absence Reporting Information page on our website.
If you need help understanding when your child should return to school, please visit the Absence Reporting Information page or the "OASD Health Services Information" drop-down on the OASD Learning Hub page.
