Story of the Week
Kindergarten Performance - April 11th
All kindergarten students will be performing a farm program this spring. Mr. Schettler has been busy teaching the students songs for the farm program during music class. The students will perform after the PTA meeting on Thursday, April 11 at 6:00 PM for the parents and again on Friday, April 12 at 8:00 AM for the school.
Each kindergarten class will be a different farm animal for the program and each student will need a “costume” to represent their animal. Please feel free to be creative with your costume. There are lots of ideas on Pinterest. We have also included some links to costumes available on Amazon.

Antivitimization Lesson - MUST READ and RESPOND
Students across the district will be receiving a state mandated anti-victimization lesson. In order for students to participate in this lesson they will need to OPT-IN. Please take a moment to review this letter with all the information in regards to this lesson. There is a google form attached at the bottom where you can choose to Opt-in or out. If you have any questions, please reach out to Nikka Aghazadeh (Aghazadehn@friscoisd.org).
Parent Survey - Message from Mrs. Singh
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child’s academic life! At McSpedden, we’re continually striving to grow and improve what we do at our school.
Your participation in a quick survey will allow us to receive feedback about areas we are doing well in and areas we need to improve on. Your participation in this survey would be appreciated and your responses are anonymous. The survey is now open and will close on March 4th at 4pm. We value your input!

10 Year Anniversary - T-Shirts
Behavior Expectations: Please review these with your child weekly.
Important Reminders:
- All classrooms are NUT FREE. It is incredibly important that you DO NOT send any snacks that contain nuts. We appreciate you helping keep all of our students safe.
- Girls: please put shorts on your daughter if they are wearing a dress. They like to do cartwheels and climb on the playground equipment even in a dress.
- Water Bottles: Please only send SPILL PROOF water bottles. Water bottles that require students to twist off the top are very messy. Also, don't forget to put water in your child's water bottle before they come to school.
- Lunch Drop Off: If you drop off your child's lunch you must do it by 10:15
- Dismissal Changes: Email your child's teacher before 2:00 if you need to change the way they go home.
- Late to pick up: If you do not come to pick up your child by 3:20 then you will need to go to the office to pick up your child. School is released at 3:05 everyday. Please be here by 3:05 to pick up your child.
- Outdoor Recess Guidelines: We will ALWAYS go outside for recess if the temperature is within the FISD recess guidelines. That means that we will go outside when it is cold!! Please make sure you send a coat to school with your child and put their name in their coat, so that it doesn't get lost. The FISD recess guidelines are below.
Recess Guidelines:
Shortened outdoor recess when temperature or wind chill feels like 40 or below
No outdoor recess if temperature or wind chill feels like 32 or below.
We use the AccuWeather app to determine temperature per FISD guidelines
- Normal recess activity when temperature (actual and feels like) is between 41 and 93
- Winter change of clothes: Since the weather is changing, please send a set of winter clothes to school with your child to put in their cubby.
