Research shows that students that miss school during the first month are at a higher risk for chronic absenteeism and are often significantly below grade level. We encourage students to stay home if they are contagious.

Volunteer
We hope you considering volunteering this school year. There are many opportunities to help; including attending a field trip, laminating certificates, reading with students, and much more. All volunteers are required to go through our background check process EVERY YEAR. This is free. All you need to do is complete the online form found here: http://ocsd62.org/volunteer
Box Tops for Education has Gone DIGITAL
It's simple to use. Simply download the app and scan your receipt. All funds earned help to support programming at McLoughlin. For more information visit https://www.boxtops4education.com/
Birthday Recognitions
Each grade level team will notify families regarding how birthdays will be celebrated at school. Due to student allergies and dietary needs, as well as the District's Wellness Policy, we request families provide non-food items for student birthday recognitions.
Donation Request
We are seeking donations of new girls/boys underwear in sizes 4-10 and pants with elastic bands in sizes 4-12. We use these in the health room for students who need them. Having these on hand ensures students have clean clothes easily available and can get back to learning quickly.
School Bond Money at Work
As part of the safety and security upgrades new door knobs were installed on every room inside the building. These door knobs lock from the inside and outside, making it much easier for teachers to quickly secure their classroom/pod. Visit http://ocschoolbond.org/ for the most current information.
